another weekend gone by

the thing is, this weekend was the same as any other weekend - if you look at it generally. it was food, friends, some booze and late nights. but if you look at the tiny details - there were some things that made it, um, extraordinary (in a good and yikes kind of way, hehe).

friday

- started out as your typical friday. people were busy, i kind of wasn't. by 230pm, almost everyone at work was gone, out on meetings. it was pretty quiet and lazy - add to that the rain coming down in sheets... it was perfect bed weather. needless to say, my mind shut down and i was useless for the rest of the afternoon.

except this friday wasn't just your totally ordinary friday. we (accounts girls mostly) were to go out... with our wacky bossing no less. at 6pm, everyone was practically teasing us about our destination... and by 63o, we were outta there.

we ate at little asia - which was just gawddamn yummy. thinking bout it now just makes me hungry man!! so much food shared between 7 girls. we didn't have that many leftovers mind you. takaw!! haha!

after that awesome dinner, random stories and such, we got back to the car and hesitantly (well, some of us hesitantly, some of us excitedly) headed over to... (oh Lord, am i really gonna type this?!) ... erm... Adonis.

haay naku. yes, we went to Adonis. which, on that particular night, had a banner hanging outside saying "Naughty Dick: Ang lalaking pasaway". can't be good right?

the damn people sat us in the middle. i mean, if you look up, the pole's right there man. yes, they had a pole. good Lord. checked out their menu and noted that there were two different prices for males and females... females getting the bad end of the bargain by having to pay at least about P100 more than males. DISCRIMINATION! hehehehe. grabbed one drink and nursed it for about 45minutes... which is i think the duration that we lasted in the place. after a few minutes, we were finally surrounded by other women (nevermind that some of them were kind of.. old-ish and matrona-ish. hehe).

painfully we watch them dudes gyrating in the stage in front of us. spent most of it with my eyes averted, or laughing with angel, julette and everyone else, or texting, or just plain nitpicking. we even started counting how many times they did the standard arms-rolling move. and we paid attention to the complicated turn-on-the-knees-sabay-bend-backwards-towards-the-audience move which was just mind boggling like, how the hell did you do that?! took note that the guy who kind of pulled down his extremely short-shorts and did that fucking-the-floor move was tabled by the gay guy towards our left. yeow.

so after about 30minutes, we were like, ok.. i think that's basically how everything's just gonna go. so i'm texting away, planning my next destination when i kind of hear this different kind of quiet on our table. i look up and ohmigod. like, did i see what i just saw?! and yet i did, because he kind of whipped it out 3 more times in the course of his routine.

scarred for life, my goodness - it was a.. erm, large surprise. oh Lordie. after that it was like, ok, can we please get our bill now? and we left.

was meant to go to Greenbelt after for some sense of normalcy when i found out that Les and everyone had left already. So i made my way back to where Julette and Anna (Anton followed later) were, which was...

Xaymaca!

wohoo!! astig ng brownman! it was hella fun. totally redeemed the whole Adonis experience thing. :D was one happy girl! it was dark, hot, sweaty but awesome with everyone dancing, singing... astig tlga. two random fights aside, it was still a good night over all.

i came outta there with a resolve to buy the CD and with the new term, hotbox. thanks Les, now i know what it means. hahahaha! suddenly struck by the new steady vibe i was feeling, julette, anna and i went over to Metrowalk to try Phi. haha! one drink and we were outta there. i just couldn't get myself hyper again, i was just all nice, happy and feeling smooth, pare. haha!

and that was Friday! :D

Saturday

got up just in time to take a quick shower and lunch and headed off to Ortigas to go with Guia to her victor jeans appointment (or was it viktor? hmm. anyway). i ended up getting jeans made for myself too as i sat there, observing. waduh! haha! went window shopping in galleria after with glads and ended up buying some stuff at Topshop (they were on sale! :p).

since dinner with SDL people wasn't till about 7pm, glads and i went back to gui's house to go to mass - where we sat in the front row, which is a first for me!! :p we also stayed a bit to kill time and help gui decide what to wear for her and anna's gimik. fun, fun!

dinner at Terry's Selection was fun too! and yummy! ohmigoodness. If you haven't yet, please go try. it's at the basement in Podium. :) we weren't complete though, but it was still fun, got to catch up with people. we really gotta try being complete though. :p

after dinner, yan and i headed to Glorietta to see Bewitched. It was...okay. yun lang. :) hoping to still catch guia and anna, we went to segafredo right after but they had gone. sayang!

so we ended up at Embassy instead with Les, Kris and Dic. well, we were at Embassy Cafe. Kris, Les and Dic had already gone up but had opted to stay at the Cafe because it was too loud (for Dic! haha!). Although Les and Kris did go back up to get their other free drink. Was really tempted to go up as well, in fact, we grabbed the bill and i was all ready with my money to go, but as they stood outside smoking - i kind of got sleepy. :p

disappointed Kris, for sure! she was all hyped to go back up and dance but damn man... i don't think i could've handled it. :p next time na lang girl! hehe. :)

sunday

woke up late, like all the other sundays past. went grocery shopping. met up with ryan. watched The Great Raid - which baby, i gotta admit, really wasn't too bad. :)

and tomorrow's Monday and i've got another week to look forward too. life's pretty fun, man. :)
