random ramblings... again

dancin g i don't think i can say enough how much i love to dance. i welcome every opportunity to dance with friends, loved ones, everyone so long as the music is hot and the crowd is awesome too. even if it's smack dab in the middle of the week, and i have no business being out enjoying myself. that being said, the wyeth 10th anniv party really was quite fun. dance, dance, dance! :) -==- stress amazingly enough, this week hasn't been as stressful as last week. but it's only the middle of the week, and i already got mad yesterday. thank goodness tomorrow's my last day for this work week! yeahh!! angel sent this to me and it made me laugh: "stress = the confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's desire to choke the living shit out of some asshole who desperately deserves it." tee-hee. :D -==- i love babies! and ryan's baby nephew is no exception. he is just the cutest, roundest little thing with the cutest smile (whe he decides to smi...

"and so i creep..."

i woke up to this song as we went home last night. Creep by TLC. When was the last time you heard that? Upon hearing it, i was immediately transported back to a time when this song was THE song of the moment... the time when i first officially met people who would eventually become some of my greatest friends. Think back, way back... late 96 or early 97. I walked into a roomful of Pinoy kids making up a dance to Creep. My first brush with YFC. and to think we almost didn't go. For the first time, in about 2 years, i was in a room with kids who were Pinoy, like me. Who spoke tagalog in between their english and who were making a dance (isn't that soo pinoy? hehe). i hadn't seen/done that in a while. I guess that was the day I started to think that Jakarta could really be home. I had great friends, but i guess, subconsciously, you also look for those who are from the same place like, is the same race as you. So I sat there watching them (because i came in late), and saw some ...
kris and kris: let us plan.. and since it seems like we can only communicate through our blogs (for some reason! hehe)... let's plan here. hehe. anyway, am good for one of our early breakfast things..but kris' mom is here. hehe. so maybe merienda is our best bet. except if it's merienda, it has to be on the weekend (unless both of you can come to makati). diba? SO KELAN NA?! am excited to find out na kris!! hehe : -==- can't wait to get out of here!!!!
Oh for fuck's sake!!! Just get on with it!!!!

an "abnormal" me

according to julette. if you want to know what she means, go check out her blog. and i can't even argue because everything she says is true. i have been cranky, moody and amazingly enough, pissed off for the past week or so. and it's abnormal because, well... i hardly get mad. :p i guess it's starting to come out the way i complain after i talk to certain people :p. man, i should watch out how i talk to people on the phone now though, i may come off sounding suplada without meaning to. hehe. ah well. but despite that though, i still somehow find ways to smile during the day. they're really inane things tho, but they keep me sane. like this one, which i read off a blog that's linked to a friend's blog: "tarsiers are highly suicidal (okay, baka dito pareho sila ni milo) - they are easily stressed especially when they are moved to a new environment. they also dont like being touched very much. And you know how they kill themselves - they bang their heads on th...

things to look forward to

it's been really hard to get out of bed lately... i've been so tired lately that i feel like my bed's the best place to be in. with that the case, you can imagine my struggle every morning. today was no exception. i was dreading today last night and when it finally came, i just wanted to snuggle back under my covers and sleep... but i had something to look forward to today... enough to get me out of bed. it's babaw really.. haha! just a lunch out with jules and anton, who i haven't really hung out with because we've all been so busy. i have something to look forward to tomorrow too... :D exciting!

early evening talk shows

since i was home the whole day, i spent most of the day in front of the tv (which is really, really abnormal for me). I ended up catching Mel and Joey and Y Speak Live (or something like that) which were on at the same time at 7 and 23 respectively. Anyway, Mel and Joey were talking about "Sexiness" while Y Speak was talking about Long Distance Relationships and Flings. From what i caught from each (i was watching that, along with average joe.. yess.. short attention span, hehe), it was highly interesting. So, Mel and Joey basically concluded that sexiness is not just having a great body, but a great mind also. And that yes, in our society, "being sexy" plays a big part. they also had a lot of features of actresses who used to be fat but are now thin. They talked about how they hated being the fat girl, being teased and crap like that. Man, talk about seeing my own life! haha! yeah, well, i used to be really, really fat too as a child. I think my heaviest was at 125...

Wala lang Sunday

i haven't had a sunday like this in a loonngg time. it's alternately nice and weird to be hanging out at home and doing absolutely nothing. it's nice because it's great to have nothing to do, but it's also weird because i have nothing to do. did that make sense? i guess it's because it's the first sunday since this year started (i think) that i've got nowhere to go today. it's the epitome of a wala lang day today. i wish the whole of next week will be like this :p -==- hey hey... it's adcongress season. i finally will be able to go to one! well, that is, if we're actually going . it'd be cool to, never been to one. ;p hehe speaking of adcong though... i gather that is basically giving credit where credit is due... and bragging rights all around for those who are there and actually win. it's a hot debate (i think we even discussed this in school)... that keeping adcongress in mind has people working to win for awards instead of working...

one hell of a day at work, but i still have some things to be thankful for

i really thought i was gonna have a steady day today. actually, up until about 4 in the afternoon, it was going ok! until i get one infuriating call from client... which escalated into two, three, four more. my sentiment: tang ina, we can't read your minds, you need to tell us things, you disorganized mess of a client you!!! grabe. it totally threw me off this afternoon. i guess i've been simmering the whole week now and today i reached boiling point. i really didn't mean to get so pissed today, but i was just so frustrated at them... and at their gall to say pivotal things at so late in the day. and i hated how she sounded like i was already supposed to know what they decided. oh no, no, no... you didn't tell me shit! how was i supposed to know?! thank God though that they worked it out for themselves and things worked out great in the end but i still went through shit this afternoon after that one phone call. the thing with me is.. it takes me forever to get mad... an...

dazzlin' em with BS

and dazzled me it did. haha! a wise friend today (who admits that he can b.s. very well, hehe) earlier texted me this: "we get paid to worry and work at the same time. It takes real talent to manage both" he says it's BS but i say it's some pretty profound BS right there! it makes absolute sense. i mean, we don't just get paid for our output, we are paid for the emotions poured into that output. and that includes worry, pain, joy, frustration, anger... everything! but that being said, shouldn't we get some emotional compensation too? hehe. :D see master b.s. (so you say), i did quote you! haha!

nice ray of sunshine...

after a week of being absolutely, freaking, out-of-mind crazy/mad over asian spirit fucking up our reservations... a call to the reservations manager today fixed the whole thing up. I now have exactly what i wanted in the first place. YAY! :D i LOVE getting what i want! (yes, i am a brat that way). I'm glad ryan pushed me on calling, instead of him. bwehehe. so i'm kind of happy now. :D

thoughts for the day

i will not be run around crazy today. today will be a good day. no matter what kind of shit rains down today, i won't be fazed. it's almost the weekend, i refuse to be in a bad mood from now until the end of tomorrow. wish me luck! :D

uncertainty = frustration

i hate being uncertain about things because i have to calculate my every move. i hate uncertainty because i'm never sure what i'm supposed to say, supposed to expect, supposed to ask. it sucks because it makes for a wishy-washy conversation with a seemingly dumb me. i hate it! i hate being caught uncertain but i know that sometimes you can't really avoid it. and it frustrates me to no end that this thing does not stop being uncertain. ergo, it doesn't stop being frustrating. i am tired and wishing for the weekend so early on in the week. i hate it, i'm tired and i'm sleepy. i'm cranky too. the sugar high from my vanilla frappe earlier didn't even help, i still feel as crappy as ever. :p i've even grown to hate the sound of my phone's messaging alert and it's ringtone -- which basically means that i should give a certain message alert tone and ringtone for some people... -==- je suis inquiete, je ne peux pas parler francais plus. c'a ete u...

getting stuff from home, and other random ramblings

yesterday, i had our driver pick up a "padala" for me from my mom. i love getting padalas from home.. especially when they have something else in there that's for me lang. :D makes me feel all special that they remember me when they go shopping! haha! part of the padala was this one shirt that i tried on last February when i was at the mall with my baby sister. she saw me try it on and agreed that it was cool... but i didn't get to buy it. imagine my surprise when i saw that they actually bought it for me. YAY! :D babaw i know, but i really can be a baby sometimes. :p -==- tried out the hip hop grind class at fitness first last night with angel and mel. Fun fun! despite some sablay moves here and there, it was fun to do. and tiring! grbe. music was too loud tho, in my opinion, so it seemed like the music was sumasabog. :p but in any case, can't wait to go back next tuesday! :D -==- horror of horrors, i've decided that i needed new jeans and a new pair of high ...
dear neka, i hope you're feeling much better now. i am glad you spoke and listened to me today. i was afraid you were gonna brush me off... you know we never talk serious. when mom told me you were at home and that they got mad at you, and the reason why, i realized that you were in the same sort of trouble that i was in exactly when i was at your age. and like you said earlier, you remember it happening. of course, you were right there. even so, i chose not to say anything to you before, even when i heard of things. i thought it'd be best if you learnt on your own. and since i also know how stubborn you are (because i am too), i knew that it would be useless to say anything. also, i really think you should learn things on your own, nek-nek. you see it naman with me, but you need to see it for yourself too. although, when i heard you sad earlier, i felt bad about not taking the time out to try and talk to you, just so you wouldn't end up sad like this. but i know naman that...

cruising down Sucat

not by choice, by the way. but today, i came down sucat, opposite of my usual direction when coming home. because of this, i got to see a part of sucat that i hadn't seen in a while. as i passed by familiar sights, i realized that i did somehow grow up in this area. i first lived in UPS5, with my lola (my dad's aunt) when we first moved to Manila. My dad was still with SGV, my mom a nurse. I was still a little girl, everyone's baby. I remember riding a jeep down sucat towards the interchange where we'd then catch a bus to Makati. This was our weekend routine, because even then my mom and dad made sure we went out as a family. I'd come home with a new toy after circling SM's toy department for about an hour with my parents begging me to please, please finally choose one. after a while, i remember moving to BF, my dad back at pepsi and my mom.. i think she stopped working by this time. I started going to Bene - so really, am not just a paranaque girl at heart but...

random rantings

back when i was still at the citi with my FILC girls and had some rush requirement for an agency, we all used to get this line as a reply: "hindi kami pansitan. ano kayo, umo-order ng pansit?" (" we're not a noodle-restaurant. what do you think you're doing, just ordering a batch of noodles?" -- ie. it's not as instant as that). that line used to drive me bonkers. seriously. because half the time, when i'm begging them for it, i'm already at breaking point and all i want is a serious reply to my request, not some sarcastic line. now that i'm at the agency side, i can finally say that i now understand this line a lot better. :p while, i haven't said it to anyone, but i've actually thought it a lot these days (much to my surprise, it's an industry-wide term pala. i thought it was just that particular agency). basically the past week has seen us deal with a client who generally rushed and asked for everything right away. don't ge...

never been more glad to see a Friday

this week has been... running like it's on slippery grounds. :p and the thing is, since it's running like its on slippery grounds, it has that feeling that it's been running frantically in place - thus slowing down its course. so i feel like i've been waiting for friday forever. and today is such a typical friday too... i can't wait to be out of the office and be on so-called ME time. :) don't get me wrong tho, the week has definitely been interesting. running wild but interesting. there about 4 hours left until the end of the official work day... let's see if i can end my work day at the same time too. :) hehe.

when things go wrong

and i'm supposed to be on top of it, i get fucking pissed. extremely pissed when i made sure to check it over and over but the third party messed up anyway. i wanted to scream and strangle someone earlier. thank goodness for friends who let you rant and throw a tantrum as much as you want just so you can let all the anger out. it's embarrassing (in hindsight), but it was the only way to calm me earlier. so thankful, because now i'm focused again. thanks, friend! :) you saved my day! :)

starbucks, metrowalk and guilty feelings

starbucks in metrowalk impressed me today. i was sitting outside with my FILC girls (don't ask bout the name, please. hehe) when we decided to move our table because we were getting wet by droplets of water coming down from the roof. so, in typical group effort, we counted to three and lifted the table. except one of my dear friends underestimated her upper body strength and lifted it a little too quickly and a little too high so my HOT (yes, HOT) tea spilt on my hand. of course, being girls, we all squealed while anna declared: "ok, i'm embarrassed, we're embarrassing." hehehe :D it was so sudden that i didn't really feel the hot liquid except i could see my hand getting red. i got a little worried though (but it's ok Guia, really!) because hot liquid + skin = not so good. diba? so i grabbed one of the cups with cold water and proceeded to pour it on my hand. the kind guard from starbucks came up to us to give us more tissues and to ask about me. my frien...

new day, new tasks, new phone -- random entry

i woke up tired today. bad bad bad. this means i really need to get home early today and try to sleep before 11. at least before 11. or else i'm gonna keep being tired until this week ends and i can't afford it. not with so many things to do and so many people to see. :D last night i was at a photo shoot, that lasted till about 9. it wasn't all that painful, it was a good shoot, i think. with very professional talents (oh yeah, so professional, they come out on TV) who knew exactly what they should do to make themselves look good. except that it still ended at past 9 and that's kinda late man. for real. so while i was there, i listed down all the shit that had to be done today and filled up a page. am doing pretty good for the first half of the day. i wonder what the next half will bring me. on the plus side, we at the office got our new phones from smart. yay! this is to replace our smart not-so-amazing phones (that i gave up after two days of trying to get through its...

a great man died yesterday...

and the catholic church no longer has john paul II as a pope. :( i watched the news yesterday and became teary-eyed at the news. i, along with my family, got to be part of one of his weekly Wednesday audiences at the Vatican. this was only about three years ago, and he was so weak already then. Despite that though, he still pushed to read his message in about five different languages to accommodate the number of nationalities that were there. His charisma is unbelievable, looking at him makes you want to cry... only because of that immense feeling, knowing that he was the pope. If my soul could have jumped for joy, it was doing that right then. I can't explain it... somehow if you could, you'd almost expect to see a bright, shining light coming from behind him. He just exuded with love and care, and you knew he meant it sincerely. Looking at him then, I was sure, he was definitely God's direct representative on earth (term lifted directly from yan :)). Nothing I can say wil...

the stupid cellular network wars

i know smart has a partnership with the SM malls for those Smart-DOT booths but man!! do they really have to mess up Globe's signal inside the mall? i've been going to Megamall for ages and there's NEVER a problem with Globe's signal, even if you're in the basement. However, when i went earlier, my signal was messed up! where it would normally be full bars, i'd get one or two, or in some cases, none at all! i passed by the Smart booth and realized what was up. coincidence?! i think not. man, everyone respects corporations' big tie ups but please don't make other people's life difficult just because they chose the competitor's product. it's obvious pa naman when it happens. :p kainis.
well i know i said i couldn't go.. but now that the day is here and i know full well that they are out in the sun in galera, i can't help but be envious and tantrum-y about it. i'm now seriously considering on following tomorrow... if only i wasn't saddled with other responsibilities that i have to attend to this weekend for my mom and dad. haaay... it's such a great day outside, perfect beach weather and i'm stuck within four walls whose airconditioning isn't exactly winning against the competition with heat. ah well, suck it up i guess. i hope april 29 comes soon enough so it'll be my turn to be out in the sun, sand and sea. :) i'll console myself by going bikini shopping tomorrow. pardon the shallowness, but when it's summer, you can't really be all that serious with life when there's that awesome weather outside. :p :)
