this doesn't even come close to really describing it, but:

MAJOR. BEYOND AWESOME. God is truly good.

there are good days, there are great days and there are perfect days

Image
yesterday makes it into the "perfect days" list. :) i said i'd be heading back to Firelake pretty soon and did so yesterday! Scratch two off that list. haha! :) Was pretty surprised when sayang called in the morning and asked if i was up to going to tagaytay and eating dinner at Firelake. Of course i said yes. :D was seriously damn excited and happy about it. We left alabang a little before 4, got to tagaytay in time for 5pm mass at that church there (i realized that in all the times i've gone up to tagaytay, i've never noticed much less been to church there! haha) and a little after 6, we were at Firelake! I love roadtrips. I love Firelake, it is hands-down one of my favorite restaurants. The food is great! I love Cliff House, it's so quiet and just lovely. haha! I love you, Reg! Raprap! Sayangku! Mwah! haha :) thank you, thank you, thank you for such an awesome day. :) Firelake Grill is at Cliff House, Tagaytay. It's just after Yellow Cab, to those int...

things always look better in the morning

i realize it is futile to be miserable, swearing and begging. it is the hand that's been dealt, therefore, one must deal. things will be okay. i shouldn't think about it anymore.
the feeling is back and it's stronger than ever. FUCK IT!!!!!! please God, take it away. I didn't even know that inaminate objects can make a person cry. I don't want any more of the sudden bouts of misery its memory causes, because they can mar a perfectly good day. please remove its thought from my mind. please, please just take it away.

sakote circa 2003: humpin' halloween!

halloween and halloween parties bring a lot of good memories. :)

Tis not anger, it's fear of anger

I have noticed that I react in the same way, whenever the main men in my life are in the midst of losing their tempers. I retreat silently and pray fervently it doesn’t push through. Besides snakes, I’ve found that anger is one of my greatest fears. The sad thing about this is, should the main men in my life get into a fight I don’t agree with, I seriously will walk away and leave them to it. It's something I don't want to see, don't want to be part of and it will be absolute misery to just be there. and besides, i may turn into a baby and just cry. To be sure though, there’ll be some making up to do right after – but that’s only the case for the other half - because it will be my temper that will be unleashed by then. However, I can’t ask my father to do the same. Haha. Seriously though, I wasn’t angry yesterday. I was just slightly scared. But you know, it’s okay to be angry coz it’s not like we both don’t have tempers anyway. Crazy tempers, at that. He just loses it a lo...

despite all the fun and flippancy, i still haven't managed to stop my mind from thinking seriously from time to time. i suspect that this is how i can put my mind to sleep. let it wander over things, mull them over and the next thing i know, i'm dreaming about the weirdest things. so what's the latest thing i've been thinking bout? Money. bleh. First i wish that i had more money, and then i jinx myself by dreaming about what i'll do when i do have more money. I want to spend my pay on something big and significant. Right, let me rephrase that one - i want to invest my pay in something big and significant (using the word "invest" makes it sound so important). Guia has her snazzy earrings bought with her first big sweldo. i have... a whole load of clothes from Topshop and Zara and some Viktor jeans. oh, and trips. sigh. it doesn't help that i have officemates who are thinking of buying something big. i can't help but also ask myself if can i do that ...

the non-alcohol/solely food weekend

Image
non-alcohol sure, but i woke up saturday morning with a semblance of a hangover. haha. i won't even try to explain. haha, friday night at kristine's balcony was sabog-laugh-a-minute. totolly loved it. lived on sprite, leftovers and some oily pork something from baliwag? andoks? i don't know. haha! caloy and aj got it. thank you joe! haha! :D -==- saturday morning i was up by 9. waaayyy earlier than the usual 11am. this was because of a "brunch" at eastwood, that eventually turned into lunch as the guest of honor (naks, guest of honor ka daw anton. ie. nagyaya) texted at 230am requesting we all meet at 11 instead of the original 10. haha! lunch at something fishy was pretty good. i ate loads. haha! and then we spent considerable amount of time catching up and gossiping. and of course, since there was a camera, we also spent considerable amount of time camwhoring in something fishy and in the middle of eastwood. haha! we also ended up at paulo's house for a few ...

i miss...

i'm so bored. i've currently made my own little world by putting on my earphones and my iTunes list on random. how long has it been since i drowned myself in music? how long has it been since i walked out of a place with my ears ringing and a stupid smile on my face? i miss 6underground. and saguijo. and wherever else the bands used to take me. i even miss xaymaca, cramped as it may be. i hope i catch a good, loud gig soon. must bring back the good old city jam/tapika days. :) -==- and speaking of music, how long has it been since i last really, truly danced? how long has it been since i walked out of a place sweaty from the exertion (and not because it's hiphop class) and again, with a stupid smile on my face? i miss dancing. -==- earlier, as i was walking to get my lunch, i suddenly remembered midsayap. and i realise, i miss midsayap too. i miss my cousins, i haven't seen them in so long. but things should be different now, with everyone with jobs and kids and familie...

buksan daw ang buhay sabi ng Coke

i practically live and breathe ads. it makes up a significant part of my life, that's for sure. while i do spend considerable amount of my time and day writing JOs that get ads made, or talking over with clients for ads they want made or actually being there during the production of various ads or just looking over ads of other brands to keep abreast, i hardly ever look at an ad and say that it's describing my current philosophy in life. except this one. have you seen this coke print ad? i think it captures perfectly the way i (as well as a lot of other people i know) currently see and approach life. i admit that we're all seemingly very happy-go-lucky at the moment, but i can't deny the fact that life is good no matter the shit. if there is any. and there are, but it's just a lot better not to wallow in it because there are so many good things that you can focus on. anyway, here's what it says: Ibuhos ang saya hanggang lahat ay mahawa. Buksan ang sarili. ...

before and after, soap opera, labels and all sorts aka: trying to wake myself up post

Image
in gladys' friendster photos, she had a photo of us back in our citibank days. man, we look so young! haha! this is how you know that time has indeed been passing by, even though we hardly notice it: before: after: this was just taken last saturday, a good three years since the photo above was taken. FILC looks great, modesty aside. haha! :) -==- Digdipper on the other hand is known to have some pretty amazing photos when they get into the mood. We once spent a bit of time by the ledge back in fourth year for our class photos. the reason why this took so much time was because there were so many pose ideas. haha! and lately, every photo has its "soap opera" counterpart. Somehow, i believe that the "soap opera" poses started on this particular day - graduation - when we were all in dark, formal clothes. haha! there are more soap opera pictures taken during the dinner itself, but this one rocks the most: (click on the photo to see a larger version) it's a li...

"I can't wait's"

i find much enjoyment in being able to think and weigh options. i finally sort of have one option now, but it isn't complete yet. i spent most of the day yesterday thinking about it, wishing it'll be done soon so i can finally sit down and toy around with it in my mind. i can't wait to have the full details. i can't say enough how grateful i am for the options thrown my way. and they are options that are meant to help me. i am so grateful. i really hope it pushes through until the end. :) -==- last night i was thinking that maybe i'm getting the direction to answer a certain prayer. which means i have to play all these right. assuming it goes the way i want it to go though. oh God, i really hope so. i can't wait to find out what i'll do in the end. -==- Jakarta in 14 days! i can't believe it. i am so excited! I can't wait to get home. I can't wait to see the house and walk around it like i usually do the first day i get there. I can't wait t...
i managed to grab Caerus recently. tomorrow, i can see. i can't wait for tomorrow. although, i have to remind myself not to put much focus on concerns that shouldn't really be much of a concern - except they're turning out to be. haha! :) i guess tomorrow will pan everything out for me. -==- after spending friday night fast asleep instead of out having fun, saturday was the ultimate opposite. we finally managed that filc night with the boys. it was hella fun. had to consciously stop ourselves from looking over at our boys talking to each other like fond mothers looking at their kids having fun. haha! but it's great knowing that you can throw them all together and they'll be okay. -==- spent sunday being "tiringly domesticated" because we had to look for bed sheets. i didn't know that choosing bed sheets would take so much effort. haha! as he says, it's practise. so might as well. :) it was interesting though, i gotta admit. grabbed a really heavy,...
first things first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANEKA! (well, belated happy birthday since her birthday was yesterday) I really hate how whenever i call any of them in Jakarta from my cell, the line is always messed up. LAG is annoying! i didn't get to talk to her much last night because she was at her dinner thing already, and there was lag. :p oh well. i think this is the first birthday she's had with dad not around. :p unilab's been such a bitch, he's been here since last week for a seminar and has had meetings added to his schedule. he was meant to be home by wednesday, in time for her birthday but no... he's leaving tomorrow pa. -==- the Filmex party last night was pretty fun. pictures, pictures! haha, puro pictures. i hope they send them soon! their damn stamp was pretty hard to remove tho! :p haha -==- it's a FRIDAY!! and i can't wait for today to be over!! :D

bring it on, dammit!

my days have been filled with excel sheets and dates. the dreaded timetable! flippin' ey. i've been staring at my little shell calendar so intently for most of the day today that the dates are starting to bleed into each other. :p i have a manic november up ahead. half of my december will most probably be spent working my ass off. i think this means i should be shopping for christmas presents this early. good Lord. well, bring it on, i say. i hope everything goes according to plan, despite the "all the best laid plans of mice and men go awry" or something like that (i have to admit, i've never read that book, i just know that quote. haha!)

i am seriously pissed off

so we have this big presentation today right? i even have to wear a fucking "costume" for it. i have my laptop with me so they can use it for our presentation. i have my clothes. there are two large paper bags in my boss' corner with props. yes, they wanted fucking props for this thing. i even have a fucking grocery basket. i get to my desk this morning and guess what? there are 7 foam boards with storyboards mounted on them on my desk. with copy sheets and storyboards on short bond that need to be photocopied. and a little note saying that they'll meet me in rockwell later. HOW MANY FUCKING HANDS DO I HAVE?!?!?!?!?!?! my boss is already at client's for a meeting. i am the only one left here and I AM FUCKING LUGGING ALL THIS SHIT OVER TO CLIENT'S LATER ALL BY MY DAMN SELF I AM NOT A FUCKING MAID, GODDAMIT. ang aga aga, nakakabwisit.

ahahah, check out who's hanging out on top of my mac mini at work: =D sayang bought him and made him for me. yebah. Gundam Freedom baby! hehe. :) -==- had a cool weekend with sayang. he wasn't working! haha! friday was more appliance-shopping with him and Rinna and us three hung out with Gui and Martin at Bed Space in Greenbelt (which is pretty cool, btw). Saturday was house-decorative-stuff hunting over at Shangrila with Rinna and El Pueblo and Nipa Hut with sayang's barkada. Which is always fun. :) Sunday was chores, church and shopping for a "costume". :p We finally got to have dinner with Dad after the numerous trips back he's had (we never seem to catch him). It was pretty funny. haha :) Oh, and we got our Jakarta tickets! wohooo!!!! so excited. :D -==- walang kwenta ang blog ko. :) -==- fucking happy man! haha! :)

professing my love for macs

Image
never really knew i'd deflect from PC and go to Mac. I was initially convinced that it'd be really hard to use. i move to publicis tho, and it's all Mac Minis and i realise, damn... Macs ARE great. They make everything so easy! my love for Macs increased when i got this a few months ago: say hi to my MacBook Pro :) I have to admit that i haven't really gotten a chance to really play around with it yet. Besides Photobooth, iPhoto, the internet and powerpoint (bleh), i hadn't really gotten around to exploring what else my Mac had to offer. I had the chance to do so last night, discovering iWeb - which had me seriously considering the SGD 190 membership per year so i can post that cool website i fixed up last night using its templates (except no... too expensive. it is roughly P6000 a year for a website) and Comic Life. The picture below came out while playing with Comic Life. I'm considering doing another one, except i'm sort of drowning at the amount of pict...

Filo Pride, talkies and gawd, what a boring day it is

excuse me a sec, while i bring out my IS side: DAMN MAN! FILO FUCKING PRIDE MAN! :D [end IS side, haha] i've been looking for this, i should've just looked at my sister's blog first. -==- speaking of sister's blog, i was sort of bothered by one entry i read. now i knew that it was possible that people were going to say shit. especially since no one has been so open. but hey, she had the guts to actually go up to our parents to admit to something that NONE of us, and i mean, NONE of us managed to do. in return, she sort of has this twisted form of a blessing (only because "wala na silang magagawa, anjan na") which gives a certain amount of freedom to show off. along with this privilege of being "free" came a lot of warnings. she is smart though, if things go bad, she will take the fall and it's goodbye parents' trust forever. i have this feeling that all these people are talking shit because: 1) you all just envious because your kids aren'...

Steps to Dreams

slightly bored and sleepy at a client meeting i wasn't supposed to be in, i kept myself awake by listing down my two top dreams/goals. not only that, i also managed to list down action steps to achieve each. the funny/annoying thing is, Dream 1 and Dream 2 are connected. Dream 2 can't be achieved without completing Dream 1. Dream 1 can't be achieved without getting rid of a variable. consequently, without getting rid of that particular variable, Dream 2's wheels will never start turning. sigh. sometimes, eventhough life in general is just pretty damn good, it rears its unfairness from time to time. i guess... that's how it slaps you back to reality. every night i pray that the variable finally goes away. sobrang daya na to, kami naman! i want the wheels of the dreams to start turning, so things can start moving. excited na kasi kami. :)

October!

in 11 days, it'll be aneka's 16th birthday (naks, are you having a party little sister?) in 30 days, we'll be flying to jakarta (can't fucking wait!!) and the next thing you know, it'll be november and christmas will be peeking round the corner. damn, time's flying by! :) -==- was such a brat this weekend. bleh. haha. not gonna be that bad a brat again. ever. haha. promise! -==- was finally roped into playing poker last night with sakote at caloy's house. it was not bad at all! haha. speaking of caloy's house... it was freaky driving down madrigal in ayala alabang early saturday night. it was as dark as anything. and then you get to the end and this big acacia tree is lying down on one half of the road. you don't really notice it until you're almost at it. :p this power outtage pissed me off over the weekend, but julette was right. we still are one of the lucky ones... and we're lucky enough that most of us have our power back already. gotta ...
