oh, the irony

The timing is so ironic. Cebu Pacific brought back their P99 seat-sale, with P999 seats to Jakarta, Spore, HK, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Buy now, travel between Jan 1 - Mar 31, 2007. And i have no money to spare for it. waaah. and to think i'm always thristing for travel. But you know, I guess it's ok, the money's being placed in somewhere really good and necessary and important. And Lord only knows what other things may come up between now (since you're supposed to buy now) and later (travel dates). oh and lest you think i'm trying to convince myself, i'm not. that's a fact i already know. but still... sigh. the good thing about this whole thing though, is that i found out that cebu pacific is now flying to jakarta regularly at only P3,499. it makes it so much easier to come home, altho the flights are weird (they get in really late at night, and leave early morning) and singapore airlines really just has better in-flight entertainment. but i'm glad the...

Christmas Wishlist

i had all the intentions of writing down (with pictures) my christmas wishlist when i realized i only had one thing in my list. all this time, i thought i had a bunch of things that i wanted for christmas - like those diamond earrings (that are probably sold already), a new stereo (really, i can just get my speakers fixed) or the usual answer, "clothes". but i don't want any of them. i only want one thing pala for christmas: 1. *secret* :p baka kasi if i say it, the lesser the chance it will come true. sana it wil. :) i'll be the happiest girl, ever, if it did.

Blast from the Past

i was reading through perezhilton and guess what has been recently revived? Tiffany's "I think we're alone now"! haha! Girls Aloud revived it: trivia about this particular song: I danced to this at Uncle Bob's Lucky Seven Club at seven years old! ehehehe :D

brainstorming!

it's nice to know that there are others doing the same thing. :)

thanksgiving day

well, pinoys don't celebrate thanksgiving day, but it's still a good day to think of the things one is thankful for. :) i'm thankful for: 1) this whole year - the bad, the good and the great 2) my family 3) my friends - all sets of them. they are the greatest. 4) that the two people in my life who tried to disappear from the life for good (:p) last year are alive and well today - because 1 is my best friend and life would be empty without her; the other used to be a part of my life, and i didn't want to carry that on my conscience. :p 5) my job - eventho i complain sometimes 6) opportunities - that always come my way, whenever i least expect them 7) the fort - don't ask why 8) the trips 9) the photos - because they have such good memories behind them 10) the plans - don't ask either 11) RAPRAP :)

turning down, moving on

so after a long, tedious process, i turned down Smart. it looked like the perfect scenario, really. At Client, at Smart, and still doing advertising. Perfect compromise. except the offer did not and could not have compensated the amount of work i'll be putting in handling stuff for PREPAID. :p i could've stayed where i am and still earn the amount they were offering. bleh. in the business of moving jobs, it's all about significant raises and, if successful, significant changes in level. i didn't get both. so... turn down. goodbye 21-month bonuses tho. sigh. but it's alright, it's all good. i'll just wait for the next opportunity to come my way. :)

brat brat BRAT!

bleh i know i'm acting like a brat, but i can't seem to stop myself. and i'm trying! bleh.

KRISTINE!!!! Namamatay na ako sa inggit!!

Image
so Bamboo played in Jakarta last Friday. I was seriously sad not to see them play nga, especially since i knew they'd be a lot friendlier/accessible to fellow Filos while they were there.. photo ops galore yun! And then i check out my best friend's multiply and guess what i saw?? (kris, grabbing some of your pix! hehehe) Bamboo during the gig *drool* with Bamboo AFTER the gig - look at that, change of clothes and they're in the DAMN mall!!! Kris!! aaaahhh!!! you got to hang out with him ba?!?! Good Lord, my heart is aching.. i so wish i were there too!!! *sniff, sniff* (uh, yes.. hindi man halata pero sobrang big fan din ako. hahaha) and lastly (hey gui, this is for you!): *drool* uli waaahhh... there is absolutely no chance that you're gonna get them as bright and cheerful here. haay.

Beers Paradise! (oh, and Serendra too)

Image
There's no need to leave the country to try out Europe's beers! :D Was at Beers Paradise last night for Mia's birthday party. I've always wanted to go, ever since Reg went with Syd earlier this year (i was in jakarta, so i wasn't there). So we get there before the birthday girl, known for being notoriously late (haha!), and was overwhelmed by their two-page list of beers. So we asked the waitress for recos instead. It was pretty cool - all these different bottles, and the beers came with their own glass. No matter how big or small the glass was, it was enough to fit the whole bottle of beer in it. It was beer-tasting all night, with Reg, Syd (hehe, we invited him over) sticking to Bush and Judas (which were some of their strongest beers - i liked Judas, i didn't like Bush. haha!) and losing count. I know Reg is hung over today, so it's pretty safe to assume that Syd is as well. hehe. I liked Stella - the flavor explodes in your mouth, it was sort of ... ...

a tourist in my city

i've lived here for ages, but i have to admit i've not seen all of manila. the one "touristy" thing i did was when we all went to binondo (to eat) and intramuros (to just walk around) end of fourth year. i only found out recently that there are walking tours you can take. And i hear that these are pretty interesting! Carlos Celdran gives the tours. anyone wanna go to any? Living La Vida Imelda sounds interesting. :D

status: still in slight panic mode

it's funny. the thing that's keeping me up at night is also the thing that has made me feel more grounded to myself. if i used to sometimes feel like i'm floundering around and unsure about myself, i've finally found my footing. i daresay, my life and i have finally reached middle ground. i guess the word is "direction". it's funny how things work out. not that i'm saying everything is in place - but it's at least nice to find a piece of myself settling. so now, i feel like i won't be floundering around as much as i used to. -==- morbid thought ( ok, i don't know why this popped in my head just now, especially since i have no doubts but anyway... ): if any of this goes away (knock on wood, sigh) though, it'll be akin to death i guess. *shrug*

AE for life

true ba? that you are your job? i used to not think so, because as i commented in arnie's blog, i agreed when said that "work is just work". therefore, i prefer to leave that and my role there in the office building where it belongs. kaye is not her job. kaye does not equal AE . but then again, i do have all these qualities in my personality that make me fit for this job. i figured earlier, in order to stop the growing, unexplainable panic i am getting (i guess this stems from always wanting things under control and if not under control, at least fixed in the right direction), i have to add another role to my growing roles in life. the brand is Kaye's life i have to be an AE of my life. sadly, i do have to bring my role at work, or at least, the essence of my role at work into my life. more so now than ever, i have to be an AE and handle my life. with that realization came the inevitable: objectives? deadline? timelines? and as with my job, timelines are what dri...

chin resting on one hand brows slightly furrowed, staring into space, fingers of the other hand drumming on top of the table, mind running possibly at 100mph. that best describes how i'm feeling at this particular moment. i can't put the actual feeling into words, so imagery will have to do.
learning something from thin air i have to try and learn something, something i consider important and i'm getting all panicky about it because nothing is sinking in and i've been reading and reading all sorts of different things already. i need someone to teach me! :p i want this settled already - settled so that when the time comes, i'd know what to do. but it's so hard. when you start talking numbers, i get lost. this prime example number one. sigh. -==- sick of the grapevine shit really though, i can't care less. and i don't. i haven't even called people on it. i just hate when i'm pre-empted. and pre-empted, i was just. good Lord. i hate most when people try to pin the blame on some other person, when i know for sure where it came from. bleh. the one time i said something (only because it had to be said), it still came out on the grapevine. maybe now we shouldn't really wonder why things are all over the place. some people can't respect th...

Saw Marie Antoinette last Thursday, after that failed attempt to go boxing again (my dad traded cars without telling me and he drove off with my boxing stuff). I read in one article about it that one will definitely have a love-it-or-loathe-it reaction to this movie. I have to admit i straddle both. I loved it for its scenery, the clothes, the shoes, the shots, the glimpse into the lavish excesses of royals of old (which have always fascinated me) and Marie Antoinette herself. However, it was also the slowest hour and a half or so in the cinema since I can't remember when. That being said, i'm still glad i saw it, but i'm not too sure if i'll be watching it again. soon. or ever. :) haha, i noticed that the same picture is in pau's and arnie's blog as well. :) i love this pic out of all the ones i've seen on the net. -==- today is carlo's birthday! he is now 5. how time really flies! i miss him being a baby tho. haha! :) he's downstairs eagerly waitin...

time and sentimentality

do you find that when you reach a certain time (day, week, month) in year, you tend to look back because it brings you back to certain memories? well, looking back i realize, it's a year. and damn what a year it's been. i still think that the worst thing i could do to a someone close to me is still the best thing i did for myself. and the funny thing is, if you look back at this blog, you won't find much indication of what happened during this time of the year last year. i don't know what made me do that, especially if the blog was meant to be a tool for me to use to look back on things. must have been some weird defense mechanism to focus on the bright and cheery, especially in december, instead of the dark moments - so i wouldn't have to remember them in detail. or a subconscious effort to keep things only to myself and to my immediate family and friends. sure i'd have outbursts here and there, but if you weren't here at the time and you are just reading m...

Jakarta that kicked ass

Image
so after trying to leave on the 31st of october and on the 1st of november, we settled for the original nov 2 booking. we were out of the house at 5am, at the airport by 530am and sitting and talking and gossiping (ahaha) by 7am at the gate. was so psyched to get to jakarta! and can i just say again how much i love singapore airlines? it took forever for me to choose a movie to watch during the three-hour flight. sayang chose superman (he didn't stand up for the rest of the flight because of that), i saw my super ex-girlfriend and the last race of tokyo drift. hehe. :) landed in singapore at around 11 or so, with a flight at about 12 or so. we thought we had time to laze around at the airport but as we walked from one terminal to the other (our gates were at opposite ends), we found ourselves power-walking the last leg because "last call" na daw, which is always a lie in singapore. you end up waiting for about 10minutes for the actual boarding. on travalletors in Changi...

disoriented, displaced

i always feels so disoriented whenever i come back from Jakarta. Especially now. Is life really meant to be like this? I go home to a different house than he does? wake up in the morning and not see him? not stay up late together watching tv or just talking? not hearing him laugh with my family? And speaking of my family, am i really meant to be this far away from my family? not to hear them in the same house? i feel displaced. i was only away for five days but i can't seem to remember how my life is supposed to be like here. i can't remember what i'm supposed to be doing. i've lost a bit of the excitement i have for this thing i'm going after. i miss Reg, even though i'm going to see him tomorrow. i miss my mom, aneka and inna and i'll see them in a month. i even miss dad, he'll be busy here in manila. i know it will all re-adjust in a day or so. nevertheless i am disoriented and i am displaced. going back to reality hurts like a mother. sigh. note: y...

quiet halloween

so i just realised that i had one quiet halloween. haha! and it's sort of real strange, considering that it's a holiday today. one would think we'd be out, laughing our asses off, drinking and whatever last night. but no. as our office declared a half-day, i was at the mall after lunch with sayang, doing errands. after, i hung out at their condo since he still had work. was supposed to have been watching pimp my ride, but the next thing i knew, the phone was ringing and it was cribs already. haha! sayang arrived a few minutes after and we headed out. so we ate dinner at razon's. Good Lord. good food! i love their sizzling bulalo and that gravy that brings me back to my Bene days (altho i have to admit, the gravy that really closely resembled to the one they had at Bene was at yum yum tree, which is now unfortunately closed. :p). headed on over to greenbelt 3 because Reg was gonna get a haircut. we bumped into Dic and Grace who were also in F Salon, all married and stuf...

living life in anticipation

been waking up lately with anticipation. that's a good thing, at least everyday starts out really well. :) i'm living in anticipation for a lot of things. i can't wait to plan for some of them. i can't wait to see them all completed! :) i can't wait to start learning so that some of them can work out well. the rest of my life is looking pretty great. i've so much to be thankful for. i don't think my gratitude will ever end. i will forever be grateful. :)
