You know you're an international kid if...

(ahaha, i was amused. i got this off jana) 1. You own a passport, or you own more than one passport, or you own a foreign passport. 2. You know what TCK means. -- actually, i don't know what this means, but it looks familiar! ahaha! 3. You know what expat means. 4. You use MSN/ICQ because you know they're cooler than AIM (and the rest of the world uses it) -- you know this is old when they still mention ICQ! ahaha 5. Fahrenheit = f'd up. Or you can convert from Farenheit to celcius to farenheit. -- not manually tho! haha! 6. You can swear in more than one language. 7. You know that the US is not the only country in the world. 8. You know what IB means. 9. You miss the cheap (and delicious) food from home! 10. Your yearbook had more than one language in it! 11. You keep having to explain to everyone why you speak English, even though you grew up elsewhere. 12. You are tired of people asking - "Where IS that?" 13. You spent your high school years at bars, clubs, ...

the one-liner entries

don't have much to say kasi... except i am happy. happy. happy!!! :)
it is lonely here without all the noise =(
i had fun this weekend. it was friends, family and sayangku. it was dinner with family and sayangku last friday night. hanging out with sayangku after. kirby's baptismal saturday lunch and afternoon. hanging out with friends i've missed so much (altho, kulang! when can we all catch up again?). hanging out with sayangku. eating at old spaghetti house for dinner (sarap). drinking at 121 (sarap). i've missed being with sayang so much. saturday was full-on tambay for us - sobrang kwentuhan lang kami. making plans, wishing, catching up. haha. i love how we both have the same feeling about some big, important things. :) after finding that out, a certain feeling is stronger than ever now. malapit na ata talaga. ahaha. :) i love it! :D i loved saturday so much. :) sunday though, started out so quietly. i didn't see the sun the whole day! :p which was really depressing. when my family finally got a move on, we all met up na lang at rockwell for church and dinner. watched pirate...
there's been one common thread for conversation lately, whenever the adults turn to look at me. don't get me wrong, i love that they think it's ok. i love that sayang thinks it's ok. and that he's as excited and eager as i am. but the thing is, it pushes my mind into overdrive and i can't help but imagine, plan and try to imagine ways and shortcuts to make it come true. and i don't want to do that anymore, because really, there is no rush. there is time. we know it's sooner rather than later. that is, we wish that it is sooner rather than later. :p and i don't want to think about it muna because i'm afraid he'll think i'm in a hurry when i'm really not. we'll meet our set requirements before anything goes, i know it. :) things needed will be there, when their time arrives. i do realize though, that some working will need to be done from our part but yeah, it'll get there. it's all cool. we're cool. haha :) -==- that be...
so why is it that out of the three people who make up our team, i am the only one left here at work??? ako kaya yng inaantok! well, now that it has passed, i'm actually kind of awake. there's no telling how i'm gonna be later on. i've been up since 5am! ahahaha... -==- Congrats Gladsy Jane! When are we going to drink to your new position? ahahaha... :) -==- I love you sayang. -==- ang random ng blog na to. -==- yay, one and a half hours to go till the day officially ends. too bad i left my earphones at home, or else i'll be watching trailers now to pass time. i realise i could spend this time sleeping but i don't have my pillow either. haha. -==- sometimes i wonder how it is possible that you can feel, for sure, about a certain thing? that while you can't pinpoint a time, you know it's sooner rather than later? i've never felt anything so sure about something so uncertain before. i know it's going to happen. i just don't know the exact time. ...

am finally home!

Image
after one damn long ass flight, am finally home. it feels really really good to be back at my own space. to be using my own (fast) laptop. to be taking a shower in my own bathroom. nevermind the fact that it's almost 2am and i'm wide awake, like it's 2pm. :p jetlag here we go! :) anyway, as much as i spent this trip silently wishing that i were back already (that's what you get when you miss someone badly), i did have fun. so since i've got nothing better to do anyway, here are some of the trip's highlights: Canada: It was great seeing some old Jakarta family friends. As well as some actual relatives. They took us around, fed us (Kelsey's and the dinner at Tita Rose's house come to mind.. yum!), and basically had us (well, our parents) catch them up on things back home. To me, the absolute highlight of being in Canada was this: This is Ian. We were extremely close, he was my biggest crush in high school but most of all, he was one of my best friends. We ...

lapit na!

it's saturday. in maryland. tomorrow's sunday. monday we fly back. i get in tuesday night. oh gawd, i can't wait. been counting days! not that maryland hasn't been fun - we shopped for the entire time we were here. the only reason i'm home now is because my sisters and i have finally gotten tired and have chosen to stay home today while our parents raid nordstrom and bloomingdales yet again. -==- i tried looking back and i don't think i've ever had this much of a hard time being away from someone. i didn't even try to write it down because i honestly felt i couldn't put it into words. i still can't. "empty" is the closest word i can think to describe it, but even then, that only scratches the surface. today's little tampo episode on the phone was a combination of a lot of things. but it really was mostly because i was sad. and because i miss you so much. and yes, i have been away for too long. i hear your voice and all i can think o...

the rest of my life is eagerly waiting for you...

i have been out of the country for four days. i have eight more to go. as the days go by, i've realized increasingly how hard it is for me to be away from someone for so long. i miss him so badly. i hear his voice, sure. i am in constant contact because he texts me, great. but to have him around is something else. it's really not just about missing him, really. i've come to realize as the days go by that i do not want him to be ever out of my life. that i always want him to be part of my life, that i want to share everything with him -- things like meeting my best friend after six long years and introducing him to him, going to niagara and getting drenched, being cranky because of lack of sleep, eating in kelsey's in toronto, meeting other jakarta friends who now live in canada, walking around with my cousins, flying to maryland, looking for things to buy... i did all these things the past four days and every second, i imagined what it would be like if he were beside me...

sad...

our flight to the states is in a few hours. sayang left the house about an hour ago. i already miss him like crazy. =( separation anxiety is now full-blast. he took me to Fat Michael's today, which i totally, totally loved. impromptu dates are the best! got good baon especially since i'm probably not going to be eating for a day or something. :p i love you sooo much sayangku. thanks for the great day! -==- i have friends in need lately. i pray that you guys will be given strength to do what you must, or to face the challenges up ahead. i know you can do it. and we'll all be here for you to fight with you (even if you don't know about it).

flying off again!

in two days, i'll board a plane for a torturously long plane ride. the annual states trip is in two days. how quickly time flies! i sort of can't wait because we're also going to canada (yay, some other place naman) and i can't wait to go shopping (some things don't change). except i'm all sad and currently having bouts of separation anxiety. imma miss you loads sayangku! -==- had a blast this weekend, celebrating kris' bday two days in a row. i regret how sleepy i was, was not able to really take advantage of the drinks laid out before me (even after i said that i wanted to drink). we even came home before the family last saturday, prompting them all to ask what the hell i was doing home before them. ahahaha... another weekend highlight was Superman . he's damn fine . the movie was okay. steady. effects were great. IMAX has a fucking big screen, got about 20 mins of 3D footage (except some were pretty lame/tame.) Definitely an experience watching at I...
