friends and other life-support systems
last tuesday night, kris, les and i decided on impulse to visit kristine at her job and bug her for about an hour. it worked. we ended up in mcdonald's alabang, where kristine ate "lunch", les and kris had "dinner" and i had dessert. bwehe. laugh-a-minute dude. i don't even remember much what we were laughing about but it was just kakulitan. it felt a lot like being with siblings - except we have no major reason to really fight as siblings do.
i've known these three for such a long time that i can't imagine life without them.
that was fun. we should "kidnap" kris more often, hehe.. especially since she's gonna leave! (waaahh!! :p)

Ci and Ferdie came home last wednesday and we sdl people met up to eat dinner at our favorite resto, cafe bola! it was such a fun night... almost everyone together, catching up, talking about life - just like we usually do. we spent a bigger part of our night dissecting a friend's lost relationship, but most importantly, giving her comfort. she was smiling, and it somehow reached her eyes but i could still see how sad she was.
i'm really sorry knoxy, but i know you're strong... :) smile, smile lang.
she emailed today with a summary of learnings from that night and i wanted to post it here (hope ok lang knox! hehe). here it is:
What we learnt Wednesday night by Knoxy
1) beware of guys who wears sandos and plastic shirts... they have a weird fashion sense and must not be trusted
2) history repeats itself. if a guy has played around, there is a huge chance that he will do it again
3) before thinking of going out with a guy, cia must look into his eyes. she can tell whether there is sincerity in his heart. also, a sincere guy will be able to look people straight in the eyes
4) girls must watch out for each other, if you know anything about the guy.. you must be forthright in telling her despite the fact that she is truly madly loony in-love
5) consistency in character is very important in judging a person. if he treats certain people people differently from others... he is not being true to himself
6) guys with cheap ugly tattoos are not worth going out with
7) try to find a guy who loves you more because whatever happens, he will treasure you and treat you right
8) don't put yourself in the position where a guy is choosing between you and another girl. there are more guys out there who will love you and only you.
9) You can choose to fall out of love with someone. It's hard, but in time you will see that it is possible
10) Better be rid of a bad guy now, rather than later on =)
this one.. i learned on my own
don't love anyone above God. Don't feel bad that your plans don't pan out, just trust that God has a better one in-store for you.
and i say, ditto to all that.. most especially number 4. somehow, friends will tend to keep their comments to themselves when they see that their friend is happy and blissfully in love... it has something to do with not wanting to earn her ire for ragging on her boyfriend. plus, outwardly, no one could see anything bad and everything was based on hearsay, other people's experiences and feeling... nevertheless, knox was right, we could've tried. :p

the two groups of people i mentioned are some of my lifelines (because there's my family and my baby)... they've all seen me change in some way. our lives take on different directions but we are still tied to each other - because of history and love for each other. we're all tied to each other in some way - having experienced a lot of things together, gone through a lot together. i don't know what i'd do without them, and i'm definitely glad that they've all come into my life.
