Movies and movie theaters

Image
let me just take this moment to state the obvious: i love movies! i'm a movie buff, altho i'm not really up to date with those artsy, foreign and independent films (but thank goodness i have friends who are so i hear about them). that being said, one of my favorite places to be in is the movie theaters. it's a great thing that movie theaters now are more conscious of making the viewing experience enjoyable and comfortable. it's gotten more expensive but man! the comfy seats! the great screen! the dolby digital surround sound! when i know a movie is worth watching in a cinema, i don't mind spending extra (when i have the money, that is) for the ambience. one of my favorite movie theaters is actually in jakarta. cinemas in jakarta are owned by one company, Cinema 21, and they have theaters in almost all the malls there. about a year or so ago (or maybe 2 years ago), they came up with the Premier theaters in some of the high-end malls. It's hella more expensive tha...
baby sister has friendster! waaahh!! she's not a baby anymore! :p hehe. actually, she turns 10 next tuesday and i can feel myself getting all weepy about it because her age is in double-digits already! which just makes it more obvious that she really is not a baby anymore. :( but anyway, it doesn't really matter because she'll always be my little baby. because it's such a big milestone for her (hey, she turns 10!), i'm planning to get her something. anyone have any cool ideas to get for a precocious and precious almost-10year old that'll be easy to ship to Jakarta? :) haaay... everyone's getting old. :p fact of life, i know. but still, am getting all sentimental. :p -==- I got this pretty cool forward the other day from a friend about Partners and Marriage by Mr. Eduardo Calasanz (i think he's a prof at ateneo) when he was still a student under Fr. Ferriols in ADMU. Anyway, i thought i'd put it up, i think it's really nice: Background: Eduardo Ca...
the four-day work week didja read about this today? something about the government implementing the four-day work week in order to save on fuel and electricity. it will start in april and government agencies will put it to test. what i heard is that people will have to work for 10 hours for the four days (the eight-hour work hour spread evenly among the four) for the same pay and work hours will be from 7am-6pm. i have no idea if they'll want to extend this to the private sector but i kind of heard something to the effect that it is up to the companies if they want to implement. basta the government will start this in about 3 days time (in april) and will test it for about two months. and that's the four-day work week. very interesting really.. imagine having a 3-day weekend ALL THE TIME. wow. and working for 10hours isn't so bad,, because you end up staying that long in the office anyway, without really thinking about it. altho i figure that will be hell for people whose ...

it's time...

for that annual search for the "perfect" bikini. alright, i admit, i find the need to search for one every time someone mentions a trip to the beach but just the fact that it's summer now has made the "need" more, um, "urgent". ok fine, there are just some really nice ones out now and you never know when you'll next need one you know? hehe so while i'm still loyal to my black, string bikini from topshop and semi-loyal to my blue speedo one... watch me be looking at the racks for a new one! now if they weren't so expensive... life'd be perfect! :D

I figured it out!

yay!! i adjusted it!! all on my own!! wohoo!! am happy now. hehehe :D wala lang!
New templat e So how do you like it? One question though: Does anyone know how i can put the whole thing down so it doesn't cover the Blogger navbar?? I've tried adjusting the background but everything disaligns after i do! and i'm soo frustrated now that i can't be fucked anymore, so i'm leaving it as is. hehe. :) yes, this is what i spent most of my long weekend doing - trying out templates and fixing em up (at least, to the best of my abilities anyway. i still have a billion to learn about html. haaay...). i even put up another blog just to practice on! :p hehe so anyway, post ur comments... and if you can help, i'd greatly appreciate it. -==- Those DAMN PINK FENCES!! not only do they waste such a perfectly nice color (except it's in an ugly shade...) but it also turned EDSA into a major maze! does anyone really know where to go when faced with those pink fences? and those damn signs that point out where PUVs should go and private vehicles should go MUST ...
summer days it's a bright, sunny day outside, with a light breeze blowing... the epitome of a great summer day. all you need to complete the picture are some swaying trees, white sand and blue sea. now THAT is bliss. i am hit again with the realization that i no longer have a summer to speak of - at least, not the two-month summer kind that students get. what i have is work, for five days a week, with a big window to show me how bright the world outside the four walls is. at least there's a plan to have a "summer" soon - if only for three days. :) i can't wait. i hope it pushes through. today is holy Wednesday and most people are on leave. i wanna go na!! out from here. but i keep thinking if there's anything i should do today... except i can't think of anything and i can't convince myself that that is true because my mind may just be conditioned to do nothing today. i'll give it about an hour or so. hehe. :) yay! a really long weekend is finally h...
