Beers Paradise! (oh, and Serendra too)
There's no need to leave the country to try out Europe's beers! :D
Was at Beers Paradise last night for Mia's birthday party. I've always wanted to go, ever since Reg went with Syd earlier this year (i was in jakarta, so i wasn't there).
So we get there before the birthday girl, known for being notoriously late (haha!), and was overwhelmed by their two-page list of beers. So we asked the waitress for recos instead. It was pretty cool - all these different bottles, and the beers came with their own glass. No matter how big or small the glass was, it was enough to fit the whole bottle of beer in it.
It was beer-tasting all night, with Reg, Syd (hehe, we invited him over) sticking to Bush and Judas (which were some of their strongest beers - i liked Judas, i didn't like Bush. haha!) and losing count. I know Reg is hung over today, so it's pretty safe to assume that Syd is as well. hehe. I liked Stella - the flavor explodes in your mouth, it was sort of ... "spicy" - that's the best way i can describe it and the Peach beer. I also liked how Kwak tasted (it came in a pretty funky glass as well) and Judas was really easy to swallow, living up to it's descriptor in the menu - "Traitor" ie. you keep drinking it cause it's really good and the next thing you know, your world is spinning.
And since it was a birthday party, Mia kept to tradition and went round with a large Cuervo in her hand handing out shots you couldn't turn down. When she came round with a Goldschlagger in hand, i called her over for mine. haha! :)
So really, i'm amazed i'm feeling normal today.
Beers Paradise is on Polaris St., in Makati - next to Alba's. Bring a lot of money when you go, the beers don't come cheap! hehe. :)

Serendra Piazza is sort of like Alabang or Westgate but quieter and with more expensive restos. Totally chill. Too bad about the expensive restos tho (nevertheless, we'd like to try them pa rin), but hanging out there is fun. We were there last saturday to check out Sonja's cupcakes. Had to settle with the Creme Brulee cupcakes because there was a 20-minute wait for the other cupcakes. I guess that means we have to go back and go a lil earlier. :)
We walked around first to get hungry again (that's what happens.. if you eat dessert before dinner. hehe) and found a gem of a shop called Luna, where I found this snazzy-assed ring that my cool-as-ice-super-kick-ass boyfriend (ahaha!) got for me (thank you, thank you!). I think my fixation for funky rings is making a comeback. Expect this to be the first of many. :D
We then checked out all of the restaurants there and ended up at Abe (uh.. dapat may accent on top of the "e" - i dunno how to do it), which was really, really good. As in. We are planning on taking the family there when they get back, i have this feeling they'll like it. :)
Anyway, there are still a load of places at Serendra that we'd like to try... can't wait to go back! hehe. I should stay away from Luna tho, until i have money to shop again. :D

oh, tip for the cupcakes, they open around 3pm.. that time there wont be cupcake shortage, UNLESS its the weekend. the service sucks big time i think.
and yesh, the ring sorta looks like a traffic light. luvs it. am on the lookout for more rings now. haha. balik sa dating gawi! :D
