love (of) and anime

if i look back, i think the love for watching anime sprung from Fushigi Yuugi - all the way back in freshman year in college. I've Maie to thank for that. I used to spend hours watching episode upon episode.

it was then that i realized that while i may have outgrown the cartoons over at nickelodeon, disney channel and cartoon network - i also re-channeled my love for animation to that art called anime.

i may not be as big as a fan as some of my friends and my boy - i certainly won't comment on art and i haven't followed any particular anime enough to be able to tell its story (i swear, it's like soap opera for boys. listen to my sayang tell me about Gundam Seed, he knows it all, haha!) but i seriously can just sit back and watch riveted.

admittedly, i haven't indulged my couch-potato side in so long and i still have a bunch of cartoons in my dvd collection - all from sayang that i haven't gotten around to watching. But last night, we finally got around to just sitting in front of the TV. It was all Voltes V (which made me realise that as a child, i did spend a considerable amount of time watching it) and fastforward/compressed version of Gundam Seed (and now i want a Freedom Gundam to sit on my desk, just coz he looks damn cool).

it was damn cool to be hanging out at home indulging in my sometimes fickle love for anime and being with sayang.
