good to be back... at this temporary home
well... we're back at my tita's house! yay! i've never been more glad to be back here. all our stuff is all over the place but it's ok, it's cool... it's home.
so last tuesday, we drove off to pennsylvania and went straight for a factory outlet. believe you me, i haven't really been buying a lot of stuff yet, although that's probably about to change. hehe. we drove further on to this town (whose name i can't remember at this moment for some reason) that was nearer to Hershey- which was our main reason for being in pennsylvania in the first place.
the next day, we hied off to hershey park - starting off at Chocolate town - which is basically this building that houses a 3-d theater (which was pretty fun) and a walk-through tour about how chocolate is made. We signed up for the tour of the town itself, which was damn entertaining! i've been to a lot of tours with tour guides just droning on and on but this was one was different - the tour guides came in pairs - both actors, with one of them jumping off and on the bus in different costumes to illustrate the people in Milton Hershey's life. and, ohmigoodness, they'd sing songs! and they'd sing these american classics (i guess) and everyone else in the tram would be singing along. pretty cool and different, i liked it.
we went straight to Hershey Park after, where inna got to go on her very first rollercoaster ride (she was finally tall enough! haha!). i still can't forget her expression - she basically looked like she was about to cry as she clutched my arm. i told her that she couldn't cry and eventually, she started smiling. but at the first drop, ohmigoodness ... hehe, i thought she was gonna start bawling right then and there!
the sad part about the hershey park thing was that it rained - which meant our time at the park was cut short and we only ended up in about 4 rides. :p but it was still fun anyway.
the next day, we packed up our stuff and went on this long-ass search for a big canvas bag that we could strap to the top of the car because the rented Yukon didn't have enough space for all our bags and the plastic bags from all the shopping. After a lot of discussion, we finally found one and we hung out at this parking lot in a mall for a while fixing all our stuff.
The highlight here was when my mother told me to get up on the top of the car to help settle the things down and zip the whole bag up. now that was fun. i mean, how many times in your life would your mother willingly tell you to sit on top of the car? hehe.
we headed for New York afterwards and got there at around 1opm. tired much, we all fell asleep but not before my mom realized that my clueless sister (she was looking at my mom who was talking to her at the time) had stumbled onto a porn channel while flipping through channels. i saw about 5secs of it and it didn't even register what i was seeing. it was a good thing aneka wasn't paying attention and inna was reading. my mom had a cow! haha! for the rest of the time, we could only flip through channels when they were around.
the next day, we got on those hop-on, hop-off buses and rode around the city. walked into a chinese resto just in time because it started to rain. it was a pretty quick shower though so that was ok. did a lot of walking after, especially up and down fifth ave (expensive! but H&M was on sale so I got a pair of pants). It was damn hot that day, even after the rain, and i think i got a bit darker from riding at the top of the double-decker bus. oh well. :p ate good food for dinner too, so was pretty happy.
and then today .. we drove back home after going to church at st. patrick's cathedral (where i slept during the homily. tee-hee).
so now we're home and resting. ohmigoodness. about four more days to go! we're leaving maryland on friday na. haay...

i just realized that if there was a place that i had to live in in this country, i'd definitely pick San Francisco.
wala lang. :p
